The Hikvision DS-3E0105P-E/M(C) is a compact unmanaged network switch for connecting and powering IP cameras and other compatible PoE devices. With four Fast Ethernet PoE ports and a separate RJ45 network port, this switch is particularly well-suited for smaller camera installations where simplicity, reliability, and quick setup are key.

Four PoE Ports

The switch features 4 × 10/100 Mbps PoE ports and 1 × 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port. The PoE ports support IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at and can deliver up to 30 W per port. The total available PoE budget is 45 W.

The IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standards make it possible to supply both data and power to compatible devices via the same Ethernet cable. More background information on these standards can be found at IEEE – Power over Ethernet. IEEE specifies that 802.3af supports up to 15.4 W, while 802.3at increases this to 30 W per port.

This allows compatible network cameras to receive both data and power through the same network cable.

Long-range PoE up to 300 meters

For situations where a camera is placed farther from the switch, the four PoE ports feature a long-range function. Under suitable conditions, this can extend the transmission distance up to 300 meters.

Hikvision notes that the actual achievable range may depend on factors such as the connected camera model and the cabling used.

This makes the DS-3E0105P-E/M(C) an attractive option for locations such as warehouses, industrial sites, parking facilities, and other CCTV installations where standard Ethernet distances may be insufficient.

Protection for Professional Installations

The switch features 6 kV surge protection, which provides additional protection for the network ports against electrical voltage spikes. The metal housing and fanless design also make the switch suitable for quiet and low-maintenance installation.

Plug-and-play installation

Since this is an unmanaged switch, no management interface or network configuration is required. This allows the DS-3E0105P-E/M(C) to be quickly added to a new or existing camera security system.
