Never IP
X-Security, SPRO, Hikvision
All of these brands offer a wide range of IP recorders. The recorders start at 4 channels and go up to 5,000 channels; there are recorders with and without PoE. With PoE recorders, the camera receives a 12-volt power supply directly from the recorder; while with non-PoE recorders (so-called network recorders), the camera must be powered separately. You can power a camera using an adapter connected directly to the camera or via a PoE injector on the UTP cable. In some cases, it may be easier to work with a network recorder. Most recorders nowadays all feature a Dutch menu. When choosing a recorder, it is important to consider the following aspects:
- Number of channels
- PoE or no PoE
- How many hard drives are supported
- How many MP can the recorder handle
- What is the maximum bandwidth
